  2. “Only floss the teeth that you want to keep.” This old saying rings true because brushing is only half of the equation.  Flossing not only helps release food particles trapped between your teeth it helps keep your gums healthy too! Be sure to floss a minimum of once a day.
  3. Avoid high sugar foods.  There are many great health reasons to avoid high sugar foods like candy and soda, but as far as your mouth is concerned, the high concentrations of sugar can accelerate tooth decay and make your job of keeping your mouth healthy that much more difficult.  If you do allow yourself the occasional sweet treat be sure to brush shortly afterward to eliminate any excess sugars and acids left in your mouth.
  4. Visit the dentist regularly:  Ironically, the best way to avoid costly repairs and to keep your smile looking its best you should visit the dentist every six months four a routine checkup and cleaning.
